Craig Bellamy escape being charge.
Manchester City striker Craig Bellamy will not face any action from the police, it has been confirmed today, after he clashed with a Manchester United fan in Sunday’s derby at Old Trafford.
The supporter had invaded the Old Trafford pitch and had been apprehended by stewards when Bellamy appeared to push him in the face. However, neither the player nor the fan has made a complaint abut the incident, and Greater Manchester Police have revealed that they will be taking no further action.
“We have received no complaints about this incident and are currently not investigating the matter,” a police statement read, according to the Press Association.
The FA also investigated the incident, but confirmed earlier in the week that they would take no further action after warning the striker as to his future conduct.
The fan, a 21-year-old from Chorley, Lancashire, will face charges of going on to a playing area without lawful authority or excuse at Trafford Magistrates Court later this month.
